When is the shop closing?

  • Our last day open to the public will be Saturday, May 31st

Are the shop hours changing?

  • Yes, starting now through May 31st, H&H will only be open Friday - Sunday.
    • Friday: 11am-5pm
    • Saturday: 11am-5pm
    • Sunday: 11am-3pm

Why are you closing?

  • It’s a combination of many factors: the economy, shifts in shopping habits, and personal life changes with the owners.
  • Read our announcement message on Instagram.

Will your online store still be open?

  • We plan to keep the online store open while supplies last until May 31st.
  • Inventory will be limited as we wind things down.

What about gift cards?

  • Gift cards will be valid on all sales through Saturday, May 31st.
  • We are no longer allowing new gift cards to be purchased.

Will you still make candles?

  • Long-term, we do not plan to continue making candles.
  • What’s on the floor now is what we have, so if you see one you like, now’s the time to get it.
  • We may do one final run of candles in May, so keep an eye out on Instagram and email for updaes on that

Can I order custom or bulk candles before you close?

  • Custom and bulk orders are not available at this time.
  • We're focusing on closing out current inventory.

Will you have sales or discounts?

  • Likely yes, we may have markdowns as we get closer to our final days, but we are not ordering any new inventory so if you see something you like, it’s best to buy it now.

Are you moving to a new location?

  • No, we are not relocating. We’re closing the retail shop entirely.

Is Hearth & Hammer going away forever?

  • We don’t know what the future holds, but H&H as you’ve known it will be closing.

Can I buy shop fixtures, displays, or furniture?

  • Yes. Some fixtures, furniture and supplies will be for sale closer to our final days.
  • These items will be clearly marked once available. Pre-sale or holding of items will not be allowed.

How can we support you?

  • Visit us, shop with us, and spread the word. Every purchase makes a difference.
  • We’re so thankful for your support.

What are the owners doing next?

  • They’re planning to take some time to breathe, reflect, and see where the next creative chapter leads. We’ll keep you updated if new things are on the horizon.

What method of shipping is used for orders?
Orders are shipped via USPS. We will provide you with a tracking number upon shipment. Orders will be shipped from Batavia, Illinois. Hearth & Hammer is not responsible for lost or stolen packages once delivered—please take adequate precautions to make sure your orders are delivered to you safely.

What are your return policies?

What if my item is broken?

What is soy wax and why do you use it?
Because it's awesome...
No, but really, the wax we use is made with 100% natural, USA grown soy beans. It burns cleaner and longer than alternative waxes like paraffin. 

Why did my candle discolor or turn yellow?
In an effort to keep our products as pure and natural as possible we do not add any UV stabilizers or other additives to our candles. As a result over time soy wax may discolor or fade. Therefore, we recommend that you keep H&H candles away from direct sunlight or strong fluorescent lighting to avoid discoloration.
